Privacy Policy
Snapra
Behind Zero LLC built Snapra so that your photos stay yours. We operate no servers, and none of your content is ever sent to us.
Information we do not collect
Snapra has no user accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect or receive:
- Your photos or albums
- Your location
- Names, email addresses, or contact information
- Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
- Analytics, usage tracking, or crash reporting data
The app contains no advertising and no third-party tracking software. We have no server that could receive your content.
Where your photos are stored
Albums
Photos in regular albums are stored in your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple ID, so they sync across your devices. This happens directly between your device and Apple — we have no access to it, and Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's privacy policy. If iCloud Drive is unavailable or you are not signed in, Snapra saves to your device instead and shows a banner telling you so.
Locked Albums
Photos in Locked Albums are stored only in Snapra's private storage on your device. They are deliberately excluded from iCloud, are not visible to other apps, and never leave your device.
Because Locked Albums are excluded from iCloud, they are not backed up. If you delete the app or erase your device, those photos cannot be recovered.
Face ID and Touch ID
Locked Albums are unlocked using Apple's local authentication. Your biometric data never leaves Apple's Secure Enclave and is never made available to Snapra or to us. The app is told only whether an authentication attempt succeeded.
Location
If you enable GPS Tagging, Snapra records the coordinates where a photo was taken and writes them into that photo's EXIF metadata. This happens entirely on your device, and the data stays inside your photo file. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Location access is optional and can be changed at any time in the iOS Settings app. Note that if you share a photo containing GPS metadata, the location may be readable by whoever receives it.
Apple Watch
The Watch companion communicates with your iPhone only to trigger the shutter. No photo content or personal information is stored on the Watch or transmitted anywhere else.
Purchases
Snapra Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store payment details, and we cannot see your payment information at any point.
Children's privacy
Snapra does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app has no accounts and transmits no personal data to us from any user, regardless of age.
Your control over your data
All Snapra data lives either on your device or in your own iCloud account. Deleting a photo or album in the app removes it. Deleting the app removes its local data, including all Locked Albums. Content stored in iCloud Drive can be managed through the Files app or your iCloud settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app develops. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
